Shomei-kun is a proof system designed to register records such as photos, videos, audio, documents, PDFs, and business records.
It establishes the first registration as the unique authentic origin and continuously preserves subsequent additions, changes, and corrections as a verifiable history.

From a single authentic origin, multiple proof sequences — including fixed-hash, variable-hash, and reserved-hash sequences — can be maintained while preserving their respective roles, creating a continuous proof structure from origin to present and into the future.

When necessary, proof information such as hashes can be recorded in external evidence systems including blockchain, while the original data itself does not need to be publicly disclosed.

Web3 Proof DAO aims to build this proof structure into a social system in which individuals can manage, prove, and verify their own records — advancing the “democratization of proof.”

🟦 1. Philosophy

Proof should not inherently be something granted by a particular authority or administrator.
Everyone should be able to record, prove, and verify their own acts of creation, actions, and records.
This is our fundamental belief.

Photos, videos, documents, designs, thoughts, actions, and the records of those activities should fundamentally be managed and provable by the person who created them.

Individuals should be able to manage their records easily according to their own intentions and prove and verify them whenever necessary.
We consider this mechanism to be the first step toward the “democratization of proof.”

However, in existing proof structures, many forms of proof depend on administrators and centralized systems, and proof granted after the fact has become common.
Under such structures, it is difficult for individuals to fully manage their own actions and records and prove or verify them under their own responsibility.

Web3 Proof DAO proposes a different approach:
Rather than adding proof afterward, the moment of creation itself is established as the origin of the authoritative record, and its subsequent history is preserved in a structure designed to resist alteration and enable later presentation.

Proof is not something newly granted afterward.
It is the continued preservation of a record established at the moment of creation in a form that can be independently verified.
The concepts of a unique authoritative record, origin generation, and confirmed history form the core structure through which this idea can be implemented.

🟩 2. Development History & Current Status

Shomei-kun is being developed as a system that enables individuals to register their own photos, videos, audio, text, PDFs, and other records and subsequently verify and share both the time of creation and the history that follows.

The concept goes beyond simply storing data. The initial registration is established as the origin of the proof, and subsequent reference, re-presentation, disclosure control, and preservation are handled as a continuous process.

Individuals will also be able to determine whether each record is public, restricted, or private, supporting a social infrastructure in which people manage their own records and prove them when necessary.

■ Technical Architecture of Shomei-kun

The 10 registered utility models are not unrelated standalone technologies.
They have been developed as components of a single proof system covering the process from record registration through history verification, re-presentation, disclosure management, storage, and practical use in society.

  1. Record
    Photos, videos, audio, text, PDFs, creative works, research records, business records, and other materials can be registered easily from smartphones and computers.
  2. Establish the Initial Registration
    The initially registered information is established as the starting point of the proof history.
    This creates a structure that distinguishes the original record from information added later.
  3. Connect Subsequent History
    Even when information is added or updated after registration, the original registration point is preserved and subsequent changes can be reviewed as a continuous history.
  4. Re-present and Verify
    Registered records can be presented again through QR codes, URLs, and similar mechanisms.
    The individual or a third party can reference and verify the origin of the record and its subsequent history.
  5. Manage Disclosure
    Each record can be configured as public, restricted, or accessible only to the individual, depending on its purpose and intended use.
  6. Preserve and Use in Society
    The system is designed to integrate with cloud storage, certificates, QR codes, and codes attached to physical objects, supporting applications involving personal records, creative works, research, business documents, and unique physical items.

Rather than attempting to protect all Shomei-kun technology under a single broad right, the project has organized required functions individually and progressively secured them through Japanese utility-model registrations.

Overview of the Patent Application

The invention establishes “what was first registered” as the origin of the history for a registered subject and continuously records, manages, and verifies subsequent updates, additions, and corrections while preserving their relationship to that origin.

At the initial registration, a fixed hash value is generated from fixed information relating to the identity of the subject, while a variable hash value is generated from information relating to its initial state. These values are established together as “origin registration information.”

The fixed-hash system retains information concerning the identity of the registered subject. The variable-hash system generates a new hash value whenever the state of the subject is added to or changed, allowing its subsequent history to be managed continuously.

The application also includes additional structures such as a reserve-hash system for managing future information or information different from ordinary state changes; a mechanism for adding correction histories while retaining the original fixed hash; and a multi-point, multi-layer hash structure combining partial hash values for individual information fields with an overall hash value for the complete record.

When necessary, hash values and related information can be recorded in external evidence systems, including blockchains, allowing consistency with registered information and continuity of history to be verified.

The application also includes configurations for generating proof information based on origin registration information, update histories, hash information, and verification results, and presenting that proof as documents, images, PDFs, or other certificates, potentially with QR codes or other reference information.

In simple terms, this invention is intended to go beyond one-time proof of existence.
While retaining information concerning the identity of the subject, it connects the initial registration with subsequent updates, additions, and corrections, enabling the continuity of the history to be confirmed and verified. This is a technology aimed at realizing “continuous history proof.”
